Inserting PayPal HTML buttons might
be the right choice for you if you:
- prefer PayPal's shipping and tax
setup
- charge in a currency that's not
supported by [HOST.NAME] and cannot use the standard catalog layout. PayPal
is compatible with the following currencies: Canadian Dollar, Euro, Pound
Sterling, US Dollar, Yen, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Swiss Franc,
Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone, Polish Zloty,
Norwegian Krone, Hungarian Forint, Czech Koruna.
To Set Up PayPal Buy Now
Buttons:
- Go to www.paypal.com
and sign up for an account.
- When you're logged in,
click on the 'Merchant Tools'
tab at the top of the page.
- Click the 'Buy Now Buttons'
link.
- Enter your product details.
- Choose the type of button you
want, you can either use the PayPal 'Buy Now' button or create your own from
an image file.
- Choose whether you'd like to have
your buttons encrypted. This will help prevent other people from tampering
with them.
- Click 'Create Buy Now
Button'. Copy the HTML code that's been created for your button (highlight
it and hit CTRL+ C on the keyboard). You will need to paste this into your
*product page.
- Login to your [HOST.NAME] site.
Make sure your editor is in HTML mode. It will say at the
top of the editor what mode it's in and allow you to change it.
- When viewing your *product page, click
'Edit Page' on the toolbar.
- To add the code, paste it into
your text box and then make sure you checkmark 'Check to allow html'.
- Click on 'Save'.
You can use the catalog page with
PayPal's buttons, which is ideal if you are charging in a $ currency. If you
are charging in a non-$ currency, post your products on a Web Page layout in
the 'Along Left' sublayout. This will allow you to post up
to 10 products per page.If you are using the catalog page
to display your products, make sure the shopping cart we provide is turned off by choosing 'Closed' in the 'Edit Store'-> 'Setup Checklist' section.
