To create a discount code:

1. Navigate to the 'Edit Store' tab -> 'Shopping Cart' -> 'Discount Codes'
   
2. Click on 'Add Discount Code'
   
3. Enter the Discount Code Name. This will be the code you provide your customers.
   
4. Enter the Discount Code Value. Choose either:
   
   1. A dollar ($) amount off.
      
   2. A percentage (%) amount off.
      
5. Set the code Restrictions. Choose one of the following:
   
   1. None. No restrictions, meaning the code will work for all total order costs and number of items.
      
   2. Minimum Items(s) in Order. This will allow you to set a minimum number of items ordered for the discount code to work.
      
   3. Minimum Total Cost. This will allow you to set a minimum total order cost for the discount code to work.
      
6. Expires After. Choose either:
   
   1. Code Disabled.
      
   2. One Use.
      
   3. Date. The date the discount code will expire.
      
7. Click on 'Add Discount Code'
   

Notes:

• You may not edit a discount code after it's created, so we recommend double-checking each value and option before adding the code. For the same reason, we also recommend not advertising the code until it's created.
  
• Each discount code must have a unique name.
• Expired or disabled discount codes may be restored, however the number of uses will be reset to zero.
  

To redeem a discount code, your customers may enter the code on the View Cart page and click on 'Update' to apply the code. Only one discount code may be applied to each order. The cart will reflect the new subtotal and they may proceed with the checkout process.
