Add a Google Site Search Box

NOTE: As of September 24th, 2013, Google discontinued their Google Site Search tool. If this was implemented on your website, it will no longer function. Please see below for instructions on implementing Google's new Custom Search Engine tool.

With a search box, you can allow your customers to search your site for something in particular. Any pages that have been indexed by Google and that match the search, will then show in the results directly on your website.

To add a Google Site Search box to your website:

  1. Create your custom search engine with Google's Custom Search Engine tool.
  2. Paste the HTML code provided anywhere on your website. See this article for instructions on adding HTML code to your website.
