Limited Licence

Here's an explanation of the Grand of Limited License clause in our Terms of Service:

By posting or submitting content to the Site, you

  1. grant to [HOST.NAME] and its affiliates and licensees the royalty free, non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, modify, distribute, have distributed and promote the content in any form, anywhere and for any purpose;

    THIS ALLOWS [HOST.NAME] TO REFER TO A MEMBERS WEBSITE WITHOUT REQUIRING USE TO PAY ANY ROYALTY FOR SUCH REFERENCE.

  2. warrant and represent that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content and that the public posting and use of your content by [HOST.NAME] will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party; and

    THIS SIMPLY ENSURES THE SITE OWNS THE CONTENT THEY ARE POSTING.

  3. waive all moral rights that you have in the content and warrant and represent that all other authors and creators of the content have also waived their moral rights in and to the content.

We would never "steal" content from a members site. We simply reserve the ability to refer to a member's website. In general we always try to inform the member and get their blessing before we ever do so in a public way.
